Oh ok, gotcha. Yeah, i know exactly what you mean about inviting extended family, my wedding was only about 120+ ppl so there was no way i could've possibly done it, it's hard. But it's ok, i'm sure it is all a total whirlwind for him right now, even if you would've invited him, chances are he might've not been able to come, everyone is going to want a piece of him right now, his sched will be jam packed.
That's so sad that people get jealous and the people on your hubby's side dont acknowledge it. Are you kidding me??? I am excited just because he is from the USA so based on that alone, everyone should cheer. But to know that he is a relative of someone i know, that just blows my mind! :) So for your hubby's family to be this nonchalant about it, that's just ridiculous. Shows really bad character on their part, i'm sorry. If this were me, that would really make me mad. And I would think twice about inviting half of those people to my daughter's wedding, i would've put my foot down with my hubby and said you know what, i dont care if they are family, they can go f--- themselves, wedding will be smaller, we'll save our money and i dont want to see jealous, bitter, petty idiots on my daughter's special day LOL I mean, really? Why the envy? Be proud that this is someone that is in your actual extended family, even indirectly, through marriage, whatever, it's such an honor. I just dont get it, makes me shake my head in amazement.
Dont pay any mind to those people, you should continue to shout this from the highest mountains, it is beyond a big deal, such an incredible accomplishment for your entire immediate and extended family, life changing and glorious!
Dont worry, i think i'm proud and excited enough for your hubby's entire side of the family for you!! hehe
