Yeah it is big news here. Football is a huge sport here in the states. Makes me think of some of the others like Colby Bryant and how he got away with raping that gal because the pressure became too much for her to pursue it. OJ Simpson, who we all know got away with murder because he was a pro football player. Mike Tyson raped a young gal in Indiana, although he was convicted of his crime and served time in jail. Not enough time in my opinion, but, that is the way it goes when it comes to the high paid athletes. They probably have a bigger fan base then most celebrities on their good day. But, when it comes to animal cruelty people don't like that crap so it is a very serious issue that offends so many people because of the innocence of the animals. Most people will stand up and fight for them because they are unable to defend themselves in such a situation. So they had better take this very serious because

It is disappointing that these athletes are role models to so many of the younger generation. I hope they learn from it and change the example they set. Or get focused on the good guys who make a contribution to setting a good example.

Recently we had a local athlete get picked as a first round pick to play baseball for the pros. He just turned 18 and is a pitcher from a local high school. He got a multi million dollar deal to a pro team and not more then 2 weeks later he was arrested for drinking and driving. I kid you not, it is too much pressure for a kid that age. He got a warning that as easily as he achieved it, it could be taken away. I hope he takes that as a lesson learned but honestly, most times, at that young age, it takes more then once for them to realize that in a split second, it can all be taken away.
