Ok, it may not be official, but when the director already said which actors were cast, I don't need an official statement. On the other hand how many actors were officially signed to a project but then did not appear in it in the end.

THR and Variety are very reliable sources of course, but on the other hand they do not comment on every film that is in production or development. Maybe they don't lose a word about the film's casting again, does that mean that the film doesn't get made? Certainly not.

I think it is enough when the director already spoke about it publicly. At least that means we know who they signed for the film. If every actor will finally appear in the film is another thing. Official does not mean anything, because in the last minute there can always be changes.
