You know, when i first saw the pictures of them in NYC in People, i was kicking myself because Lee's Art Shop is literally half a block from where i work, i walk by there all the time and they ALWAYS seem to go to this store when they are here and of course i always miss it! But after watching this video, i'm glad i was safely in my office half a block away on that Friday afternoon and not in the midst of this pandemonium. This is truly upsetting to watch. Those children look completely lost and confused, but i bet they are used to this kind of attention and what will happen when they get older and can go to places by themselves? They will probably wonder why no one applauds every time they exit a building and why there aren't huge crowds everywhere they go, they probably think its the norm. I can't imagine having that kind of childhood but what can they (meaning Brad) do? It's beyond any of their control. This kind of stuff makes me wish they didnt come to New York. NY used to pride itself on having cool, laidback attitude about celebrities, the papparazzi used to not be so relentless as they are in LA. I mean, here you can literally walk past a celeb (which i've done many times: Hugh Grant, Nicole Kidman, i even ran into Tim Robbins in our office building's elevator!) and no one says anything, people just smile and keep on walking. But i guess the rules really change when it comes to Brangelina, i dont know what it is but even here, these photographers turn into bloodthirsty vultures when it comes to those two. And the crowd that gathered by the time they were heading out was truly ridiculous, i've never seen anything like it. I guess if i'd gone to lunch in that direction, i would've seen that sea of people. But rather than standing around with them like an idiot, i would've just walked right into the store :) Perhaps it's for the best that i missed this, as i said, i really can't watch how confused and lost those children look as everyone is yelling and clapping at them. What a crazy life!
I do have to say it must be quite fun to work at Lee's Art Shop, they must see Brad and Angie once at least every couple of months. I was there recently buying something for my uncle who's an artist, i should've asked the salesgirl about how often she sees them ;) They sure must have no limit of applicants to work there!
