I just ask myself what has become of this forum? Gina, you repeatedly complained here that Brad never wins anything important, and when he does you think he doesn't deserve it.
I think it is nothing else than the biggest honour he ever received in his profession. And I certainly don't believe that jury members like the famous chinese director Zhang Yimou or Jane Campion or Paul Verhoeven pay much attention to media-hype. BTW, all jury members must find a common decision in giving an award, so Brad must have had ALL votes, not only Innaritu's. If one vote would be enough Brad must have won for Babel in Cannes because his Fight-Club co-star Helena Bonham-Carter was in the jury, but he didn't.

I think the two of you represent the typical american audience. Someone said no American appreciates Brad's talent and that he should leave Hollywood behind him. Maybe that is more true than ever before.

Brad has always been the typical Hollywood star, from the first time I saw him. And you present Casey Affleck as a total shallow egoist here. Is this another typical character trait of Americans to feel jealousy towards others who have success? Is there not something called frienship and healthy colleagueship?

Sorry if I sound harsh here, but I am in a very sensitive mood. I just watched Pavarotti's funeral on tv, and it was so moving. This man gave so much and we lost this magical voice forever. Thank God it is preserved on so many recordings and DVDs. Maybe Brad will finally find acceptance when he is not around anymore. But I don't think so, I mean, when even his so-called fans here question his talent and are unhappy for others that he won a major award.

I am happy for Brad but I am also sad because of Pavarotti and I thought Brad winning this award would lift me up again, but after coming here and seeing this reaction it puts me more down than I was before.

I will watch the film and I am sure that Brad falls into character as Jesse James, no matter what anyone else says here. If European film experts appreciate his work, I have no doubt. I am really looking forward to seeing this movie.

Now I am putting Pavarotti's Donizetti aria CD in my player. I need a good cry. For several reasons apparently. I am shocked about the viciousness in the world.
