It seems Universal can't give it up. An executive was quoted as saying: 'We have a fantastic script and we were ready to go. Everybody knew what we were doing. It was not a writer-script issue. I hope we can recast the movie.'
That sounds as if the script was perfect while Brad's camp said that the script was not ready and since due to the strike the script couldn't get revised Brad had to drop out.
I think they still want to present Brad as a liar in this case.

Seems they have totally given up on Jesse James. It will already be released on DVD in February 2008. That is only two months away!

The film was released in my country only recently but they show it in only two theatres at the moment. All performances start at ten in the evening. The film is almost three hours long. I can't watch a film until 1 a.m. when I have to get up at six in the morning to go to work.
But I think in the meantime they don't show it anymore.

The award-season is about to begin. They already announced the first nominations for the Satellite and Spirit awards. I don't know these awards, they are not as popular as the Oscars or the Golden Globes. But they say they are the first indicators of what to expect from the big shows.

Guess what, they nominated AJ for her work in The Mighty Heart as best actress for both awards. They said Jesse James received four nominations for the Satellite awards including Best supporting actor for Casey Affleck.
Of course Brad is NOT nominated for Best Actor. Surprised?
Me not! They always ignore Brad for the US-awards.

The Golden Globe nominations will be announced in about two weeks. They say Brad getting a nomination is pretty slim in spite of the best actor award from Venice he won recently, but Casey Affleck has better chances.
So apparently everything will remain unaffected for Brad when it comes to get recognition.

We will have to wait for the DVD, Gina. Since Brad got very good reviews for his work in this film from European journalists - some say his finest work to date - I have no doubt we will enjoy him as Jesse James.
