I know this movie is really old but wasn't Brad up for the lead character in it playing Chris?
I also discovered recently that George Clooney was an excutive producer of this movie. I did not know that either.
Although I really like the music in it, I question how accurate it is.
First off, I used to hang around an 80's band and never once have I ever seen a musician who is a fighter. At the beginning of the movie they show the two bands have a fist fight. It makes me laugh. The musicians I knew were almost feminine. The ones who were rough neck fighters were the guys in the road crew. They were the ones who noone wanted to mess with because they would fight at the slightest confrontation. The guys in the band would run if a fight broke out. LOL
Course, those were the guys that I was friends with. I never understood all the hype about the guys in the band.Watching the girls throw themselves at them always made me wonder "why?" The interesting thing about that time was if you were a fan and followed a band, you were considered a groupie. I always thought a groupie was the gal who wanted to sleep with the guys in the band. That wasn't on my agenda at all. Although, I had a Marine, no way a musician could EVER hold a candle to that. Matter of fact, the roughest guy in the road crew knew my Marine from his rowdy days as a civilian. After I realized that, I always felt safe. To this day I see that guy from time to time and we are still speak as friends would. It is funny how some people go way back and we always remember them in a passing kind of way. That must be the meaning of an acquaintance in life.
Those were fun times, we would travel all over to see this band. Go out for breakfast with them when we were too drunk to drive home and get home after the sun had come up. It kept me entertained while my man was away serving his country. Makes me tired to think of it now, there is a reason we do it in our younger years, although, I do still know women my age that follow bands around. I wonder where they find the energy.I just don't have it anymore. But, watching this movie brings back those memories for me.
Mystie, do you remember seeing this movie? Are you and your guy into music?
Probably the best live music I have ever heard from unknowns was when I was in New Orleans...Bourbon Street....The hidden talent there was amazing. My marine would love New Orleans because of the music. He loves jazz. I never really thought I was into jazz until I heard it live in New Orleans. Have you been to New oreans for pleasure Mystie? You and your guy should check it out there.
Can you tell I am bored? Just had to comment on this movie. I do have a compliment for JA, she really hasn't changed at all since making this movie. I think it is so sad when she leaves him, but, I love the final song of the movie. I wonder if that is really Mark Wahlburg singing it.
