Brad Pitt to Battle Feral Tiger: We’ve Got the Details

brad pitt the tiger
Brad Pitt has signed on to star in The Tiger, an adaptation of one of the most hotly anticipated books of the season—and it’s a role that could cement Pitt’s place as one of the most fearless, talented actors of his generation. The critics will surely have their eyes on this movie. But maybe not Brad’s kids! Like, I doubt they’ll be able to watch The Tiger without covering their eyes. You’ll have to wait until August to get a look at the book—and a bit longer for the movie—but we’ve got all of the plot details.
Written by journalist John Valliant and subtitled “A True Story of Vengeance and Survival,” The Tiger recounts the real-life tale of a deadly animal that ravaged Siberia. According to the publisher:
“It’s December 1997, and a man-eating tiger is on the prowl outside a remote village in Russia’s Far East. The tiger isn’t just killing people, it’s annihilating them, and a team of men and their dogs must hunt it on foot through the forest in the brutal cold. As the trackers sift through the gruesome remains of the victims, they discover that these attacks aren’t random: the tiger is apparently engaged in a vendetta.”
Scary, thrilling, and Brad Pitt sweaty in the wilderness? Count me in. Add in one more fact, and it’s a done deal: the director is Darren Aronofsky, who also helmed The Wrestler. You probably know him as Rachel Weisz’s significant other, and dad to her son, Henry Chance, who turns 4 at the end of this month. Aronofsky’s got an unflinching eye toward making gritty, gripping films, a great match for Pitt, whose intensity as an actor only seems to be growing.

I am putting my money on the tiger. My bet is, it is too clever to be caught by any mere mortal.
