As much of a fan as i am of Brad (and believe you me, i am a fan, Gina and i dont necessarily agree on everything, nor do we have to, by the way!), so as much of a fan as i am, i am also not completely delusional. Brad was great in his role, i dont agree with my bf that his accent was bad, i thought his accent was spot on. However, Waltz completely stole the spotlight from every single person on that screen, Brad included. Sorry, but i call 'em like i see 'em and just because Brad is a bigger star and this guy is a relative unknown doesn't mean that he didnt outshine him! And i seem to not be the only one that thought that, the web is buzzing with people raving about his performance. He won Best Actor in Cannes for a reason and he truly deserved it. And i won't be surprised if he gets a Best Supporting Actor nod come Oscar-time. As good as Brad was, i dont see him getting a nomination, sorry.
Just because you're a fan of Brad, doesn't mean you have to be blind to truly amazing performances of other actors in the film. That doesn't take away anything from Brad's performance, Brad was great. This guy was just better but in Brad's defense, this guy's part was bigger and meatier, he had more of a chance to chew up the scenery...
