Mystie, I knew you wouldn't mind me posting it because he does mention Brad in the interview. Below is my honest opinion to watching it and man did I cause a stir. Accused of not belonging there because I always pick George apart. It is funny to me, I always think I have the most complimentary things to say about him, but just once, I see something different and I am banished. hehehe It' is ok too because I am more conservative than left wing liberal and you can imagine, most people hanging at a George forum are about as left wing as they come. I feel good that I lasted as long as I did there. *chucklin* Course, my honest opinion usually stirred things up. Nothing much new about that. Anyway, this is an interesting interview with George and Bono and he talks alot about celebrity and being famous and how they see the world. george does a great job, I just didn't agree with everything he says. Let me know what you think when you find time to watch it.

These are my comments to it, they were deleted from the forum....

Maybe I shouldn't say this but, I wasn't so impressed when he was talking about Darfur. Seems like these celebrities have too much ego. First off, I didn't realize the African people were angry at them for telling them how to live their lives. It was interesting to me George says, "they know their facts" and that makes the difference. I would think the person who lives it knows the "facts" better than any celebrity that spends maybe a week there. Seems to me he is implying that any advance they made in these regions is due to celebrity involvement. To me, that seems like "way too much" EGO!!
He is talking alot about celebrity and how they the ones who can get inside with a strategy and convince these people to lead away from the violence there. I think they actually believe they can charm these people to make the change. I think they actually believe they are smarter and more strategic than the people who allow it to go on or plan such attacks. Not that I am saying I don't applaud them for taking a stand and using their fame for something good, but, keep your involvement in proportion or become the obstical to actually succeeding at getting it done.
I don't know, way too much ego from both of them for me to appreciate it. When he said something about Bono saving so many "single handedly" really made me roll my eyes.
And funny when he comments about religion and how he worries about offending someone or irritating someone with his beliefs. I say what a "cop out" from George. Just say, "It isn't important to me in the least to take a stand for it." Funny, he doesn't worry about offending or irritating anyone when he talks politics. Some people feel religion and morality are an important issue for this world. Could help wonders with their cause of saving all the people they try so hard to save. Have the "facts" about religion. And exactly the reason I don't think all their many attempts have made a damn bit of difference.
So sorry, the ego that comes with that irritates me alot and they have the nerve to speak like they somehow know better. Maybe they have become the obstical to getting it done in Darfur because of their great ego.Maybe they have made it into a power play for the militant groups to gain the world wide attention they need to make a statement. I am on the fence to whether their involvement helps or hurts the people who struggle there. Although, I am open to discussion about it if anyone would like to present it from a different view.
