Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fight bitterly over Tootsie Remake June 9, 9:29 PM · Brangelina in Tootsie remake? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are allegedly fighting again. This time, it’s rumored to be over their planned remake of the 1982 film Tootsie. Both of them have angered Doug Liman, who was rumored to direct the film, but he is allegedly about to back out. Brad Pitt was supposed to take on Dustin Hoffman’s role as both Michael Dorsey and his alter-ego, Dorothy Michaels. Michael Dorsey, in a desperate attempt to get an acting role, becomes Dorothy Michaels, who becomes a soap opera icon. The ending is both shocking and hilarious. Angelina Jolie was supposed to take on the role of Julie Nichols, played by Jessica Lange. Julie becomes Dorothy’s best friend and has feelings for Dorothy that she can’t understand. Jessica Lange won an Oscar for her performance in this film. Unfortunately, Angelina Jolie is desperate to win another Oscar. She allegedly believes that she can take on the role of Michael Dorsey pretending to be Dorothy Michaels. She wants Brad Pitt to play the role of Julie Nichols. Angelina believes that if they can take the original movie, put another spin on it where the actual actors are the opposite sex of the characters they are supposed to be playing, both she and Brad will score an Oscar. The project hasn’t been green-lighted yet, but if Doug Liman backs out, Brad Pitt will direct. The only other name that has been thrown around for the project is Seth Rogan.
