The Ronald McDonald house is an amazing foundation. I have a client whose granddaughter is very sick with cancer. She is only 5 years old and has a very rare Cancer and they have to go to Riley Childrens hospital in Indy often.

The Ronald McDonald house always houses them and their younger children when they have to take them along. Mom just had a baby boy and she has to travel with him because she is nursing him. It has been a difficult road as their insurance told them their daughters condition isn't covered. Sad shame when they do that, put more strain on the parents at such an already difficult time. There have been benefits to help them pay their medical bills but, honestly, they don't come close to covering them. Such a mess. Although, they gave her little hope of overcoming the Cancer, she is now done with her treatments and they are waiting for a green light. Holding her close to my prayers through this time. I believe children are stronger than what most give them credit for. They can bounce back when there is no hope. I pray that is the case with this little girl.

Heartbreaking as it is, I remember the day that "Make a Wish" foundation contacted them for their daughter to make her own wish. Nice as that is, it really upset the family that they called. It was like saying, she isn't going to survive. They should use caution with that. This little girl has no immune system so needless to say, she is not able to have a normal childhood and run and play with other children. She can't be exposed to even a simple cold because her body won't be able to fight it off. These are the real life stories that matter.
