I know, Gina, i watched bits and pieces of it on CNN.live from my computer throughout the day and when the daughter spoke, i nearly cried myself (i did well up but tried to hold it together, seeing how i was still at work LOL) It's amazing to finally see his children, with no veils covering their faces, present themselves to the world. It's a shame that it took his death for that to happen but i dont think there was really another way, he tried so hard to protect him from the madness that was his life... And i think as tragic as it is, with his death, they will finally be given a bit of the normalcy they deserve, just like his brother said he will be finally left alone too (that nearly made me cry also!) They're beautiful and so well-adjusted and poised, all things considered, it couldn't have been easy growing up.

I dont know, i am sure there are a lot of insensitive people out there that will say this memorial was one big Hollywood spectacle but i was touched just like you, buddy. I still like to believe in the goodness and the purity of this world and if we are in the wrong, so what. It's better to live this way than to be a cynical, empty person, eager to believe the worst in someone. Eager to overlook someone who was charitable and kind and who truly was special. People with corrupt minds can take it and twist it into somethin evil but you know what, it's the sad reality of humanity. And anyway, i guess it's what makes the world go 'round, that there are different people and different views on things, it would be pretty boring if everyone felt the same way about everything. But what matters is that the majority of people are clearly enormous fans of his and he made a positive impact with more people than not, so who cares, let the negative people say what they want to say
Michael Jackson's music spoke to me, i grew up with it, and in communist Russian in the mid-80's, there weren't a lot of American celebrities that were known (not even Madonna was as huge there at the time as here) But Michael Jackson and his music videos were my first real tangible memory of what a superstar was, i must've been 3 or 4 years old at the time.

MJ, you will be missed. I truly felt with his passing that my childhood is over and that a whole new era has begun....
