Thanks, buddy, i appreciate that. He was very old when he passed, 17 years and i think it was even tougher on my parents than on me because he lived with them and not with me the last 7 years of his life. He really was like a family member, i have never seen my dad cry for anyone the way he cried when the dog died :( They live in another state so i'm a bit relieved i wasn't there to see it. We sent them a beautiful flower basket and they were really touched. i can't describe it, i still miss him very very much but i wasn't there daily to see him getting older and his health deteriorating so it's not as painful almost. They originally got him for me, neither was really a dog person so it took a lot of convincing for a 10 year old to get her parents to buy her a dog :) Once they did though, they fell in love with him just as much as me. I think after some time they need to get another one to help them cope but it's a lot of responsibility and work so i think they do need time to themselves too, they devoted so much of their time to that dog, we would always take vacations separately so that one person could stay with the dog.... I think eventually they will get another one but of course right now they dont even want to think about that. In a way, having several dogs instead of one is easier on a person when they lose a pet but it's all tough.... i'm sorry for your Phantom too buddy, she also lived a very good life

hugs,
Myst
