It was good. Rather depressing that they couldn't find a way to stay together after crossing paths so many times in life. I didn't agree with him leaving and running from it. He worried that she would be stuck caring for him as a child but she was anyway. He should of given her the best years of his life, so, i felt that part of it turned me off completely.

I thought the little old man who got struck by lightening 7 times was adorable. And the little add on scenes showing it. I got a chuckle out of that.

I did feel the need to cry. I know my coworker did. I had a tear at the very beginning when Julia Ormonds character told her mom how much she loves her. I thought, oh no, I am going to cry, but, that was the only time I felt overcome with emotion.

I felt it was too long too. I thought there were several scenes that that could been cut out. I found myself looking at my watch wondering when it would end.

I was also turned off by Daisy waiting until she was on her death bed to tell her daughter about Ben.That left a bad taste in my mouth.

I wasn't sure what the connection was Hurricane Katrina or how that major storm played into the story she was telling.Maybe because Daisy's life was so full of disappointment to being with the man she loved, at her time to pass, such a major storm would develop. I always like to find a reason that it would be tied in with Mother Natures will to create such a massive storm.

Anyway, I don't know if I thought his performance was Oscar worthy. he has done other characters I felt were much more qualified for the award but he was over looked. So, maybe this movie fits into what they expect. it was very creative in the manner they did it so I suppose that would count for a lot.

Reguardless, it is a thinking movie. I wasn't so thrilled about it when I left the movie theatre, but as I think about it, it has more impact on me.
