This is his interview to help the Springfield school systems with the children who suffer from poverty. His efforts are impressive. He should go National with this. I worked at my kids playground when they were little in a Catholic school setting so we didn't see it as much. Everyone was always taken care of, no matter if anyone was aware they were getting assitance, no child was over looked. That is the positive of having a Priest over see his flock. If someone was in trouble, he would be the one who people would confide in. Needless to say, it was all confidential.

My dad was an administrator for many years in our public school system. He was the principal of a public high school. I was impressed that Doug acknowledged that the administrators and teachers usually pay for items themselves. I think sometimes people aren't aware of that in a public school setting.

I hope this idea takes off everywhere, they is absolutely a demand and a need for it.

I also found it interesting that Doug says Brad has been away from Springfield for such a long time,(20 years) that he isn't in touch with it anymore. Kinda made me sad. I know it is the truth, with the life he leads, would have to be. But still, it was sad hearing his brother admit to it. Doug on the other hand appears to be about as small town as they come. It is adorable on him, he is a good man and shines in a light all his own.

I suppose it is only right Brad works on a more global effort with the level of fame he has achieved, but, it is sad to hear that small town guy has been gone so long, he has no memory of it.

Anyway Myst, wanted to share that with you when I ran across it. And anyone else who may be lurking here. :-)
