As someone who refuses to wear seat belts because I SURVIVED two separate crashes in which the other occupant (wearing belts) was (1) killled and (2) quadraplegic paralyzed, I can say that that argument is valid. I dare anyone to try to cite me for not wearing a belt! I'll have the law overturned immediately!! I have won cases in which state laws were overturned entirely on this very issue. I have two psychologist friends who would just love to spend a few days here as expert witnesses!

As to the CO2 inflated safety vests, I agree that they can have great value in an emergency situation, and most likely save at least a few lives a year here in Cayman.
