Honestly,if it means that I will have to pay one more penny to compete,I will have no part of either federation.First of Jiu jitsu is fucking huge in Brazil. It is not here. Most people would rather compete with out the gi.
Second,Carlos Gracie Jr. runs the CBJJ in Brazil. He is a very highly resected man.Not only because his father and Helio pretty much made this shit up,but he is known as one of the best instuctors out there,he is very charitable and as a wizard on the mat.He has put out some of the best instuctors and some of the best competitors out there. His name is as good as gold in the BJJ comunity through out the world let alone Brazil.
Now if you guys want to take offence to this fine,I really don't care, but I'm not trying to bash anyone.Who is heading up the 2 NC federations? Two black belts from the same town who's names and ranks are surrounded with contoversy. How good are these guys?Who knows?Out of the two of them I have only seen one of them compete, and that was only once.
There are a few tournaments around this state that happen outside of Charolette. If these guys want to convince me they are truely trying to help the sport grow and not just line thier pockets, one would think you would see them at these tournys. If not to compete,to bring a team,to watch,to ref, keep time, anything.
"It will purify all the belts so they can be traced",from Carlos Gracie Jr. is fine. From these guys is insulting. Now as far as these guys confirming my rank,I think they should roll with me.Not only is my instuctor a busy man,but I want to confirm thiers.A hundred dollars a school and twenty five dollars a competitor is a lot of money just to be able to go and pay more to be in a tournament.Thats what all this seems to be about.

This is from one of the federations websites. From the one that Luis is the head of I believe.Although it is well writen and pretty much dead on,it's interesting considering the contraversy surrounding the two guys in charge of the NC federations that are from NC.

It is important to be aware that unfortunately there exists instructors who have a belt rank that does not reflect their actual training.(hmmm) It is not uncommon for a person to receive a blue belt after attending a few seminars and immediately begin teaching the public. More recently many individuals are promoting themselves further to purple, brown or even black.(really?) Unfortunately, it is difficult for the untrained public to make the distinction between these frauds and real qualified trained instructors(agree). It then becomes imperative to research instructors credentials, claims, certifications and associations(why do some guys get so upset I wonder). In addition, it is important to remember that in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu only a black belt can award rank and that you can only receive a black belt from a third degree black belt or higher .

Ok,now discuss.
