Appearance: Vanal is slim and tall, as is common with her kindred. Her hair is the colour of chestnut wood in the heart of summer with a glossy sheen the shade of autumn leaves when the sunlight is reflected off of it. It reaches only slightly past her shoulders when worn down, however it is often tied at the base of her neck with a strip of cloth. Her eyes are often described as unsettling when gazed into and are the colour of freshly grown grass in the spring. Faded designs are incripted on her cheeks and wind up to touch her brows; their meaning is known to few. A small oval gem is set upon her forehead that she only wears when travelling; again, the meaning of it is hidden from those who do not know her.

Her attire is well-worn from many months of travel. She is dressed in black from head to toe; black leggings, black boots, an ebony vest covers an off-white shirt, the only splash of colour on her. A black belt is worn on her slender hips, and a woolen cloak, also the customary black, is upon her shoulders. Several knife sheaths hang on her belt; most with the weapon to accompany them.

Past: Vanal's past is shrowded with mystery and often she does not share it with those whom she has just met. The few who she has spoken of it to often say it is one best left unsaid to those not strong of heart (or stomach for that matter) for it is a terrible past indeed.
