My apologies for it taking so long to answer you, i have been taking care of troubles of my own, it seems no one is without them these days. Your story is very sad, and what is even more sad is how prevelant your problem is in soceity today. I was very suprised at your husband suggesting he "gradually" quit. What he is doing is adultury, and there doesn't have to be physical contact for there to be infidelity. So for him to say he stop cheating on you gradually, like he has a drinking problem, is ridiculous. It seems to me that he is taking advantage to your devotion to make your marriage work, as long as you put up with his cheating he will continue to do it, and this has been going on for years! Although i am not an expert in marriage counseling, it is obvious you really love him and would like to see this through and that is commendable that you did not just give up, but i believe you need to seperate yourself from him or tell him to move out for a little while until he decides what his priorities are and if he is willing to resume taking his marriage vows seriously. No one deserves this, remember that and take control of your marriage. I hope i helped a little, even if it was just to listen, but i believe your heart will tell you what to do.

Good luck,
Sarin
