Maddux has said publicly that if he doesn't sign with the Braves that the only two places he'd consider going would be Arizona or San Diego *fingers crossed*... he'd be a great teacher for some of the best young pitching prospects in the game. He's from Las Vegas, and I believe lives there in the offseasons, so he wants to be close to home.

Of course, if Ken Griffey Jr. thinks that Cincinnati is close to his home in Florida, then Maddux may be convinced that Arlington is close to Las Vegas.
