Not to split hairs, but given that Park was injured so much of the season, I don't really think he ever got a chance to really get into a groove here, so it's hard for me to call him a bust. As for being stuck with him, he can leave after this year if Texas doesn't pay him a scheduled bonus, and even though the popular opinion is that he knows he will never get the same offer anywhere else, there's a chance he will bail anyway.
As for Gonzo, there's not much defending his performance this season, or lack thereof, all I can say is that 2 of his last 4 years before he was traded he was the AL MVP, and quite honestly he was more deserving than Ichiro again last year( Ichiro was great, but got way too much credit for the career years the entire roster had), so I think it was a good move to chance it. And I know the 2 aren't connected anywhere outside my mind, but the last season Texas was competitive was Gonzo's last year there, so my own thinking was that they had won with him and much worse casts around him, bringing him back in now with A-Rod, Raffy, Pudge( who's a better hitter now than when Gonzo left), and what Carl Everett was supposed to bring looked like a modern day Murderer's Row, sometimes stuff just doesn't work out.
