I don't know that the same case can be made for Tracy. Yes, he's somehow managed to win with Perez, Omar Daal, Ashby and Ishii, and Green has been eratic for the most part, but Hargrove never even had a Marquis Grissom, let alone a Shawn Green. Tony Batista is the only player on the roster with a 40 homer season to his credit, and he only has 1. Not to mention, Daal, Perez, Ashby, an Ishii( in the Japanese leagues anyway) have all been quality guys at some point somewhere else, so it's not astounding that they're where they are, just unexpected. Also, Tracy inherited a damned good club as it was, he's just put the finishing touches where they were needed, while Hargrove has in essence built a team much in the same way Minnesota did, just a little faster .
