Didn't mean to leave you hanging... My backup computer died, but my starter came off the DL yesterday. Anyway, the loss was frustrating to say the least. Not because of Simms' performance/expectations, but because of the gameplan of Off. Coordinator Greg Davis. When the Horns play a big game (read: vs. OU), he doesn't gameplan to win, he gameplans to not lose. Kinda like a Prevent Offense I guess you could say. As for Simms, 2 of the 3 interceptions were obviously the receivers' mistake. The first INT was his fault because it was underthrown, but it took an NFL caliber play by Andre Woolfolk to actually make the INT. I didn't have any problem with the way Simms played, aside from his lack of mobility, which is nothing new. I wish he'd audible more though. Major Applewhite was at his best when he would audible half of the plays given to him.

The good news is, Texas won a "big game" today, beating a Top 20 team, at a hard place to play (Kansas St.) The bad news is, Greg Davis might get to keep his job if they continue to win, even though the win doesn't come because of his gameplan, but in spite of it. Rumor has it he will be replaced at season's end... *fingers crossed*. I don't see any reason to heap blame on Mack Brown for game day decisions, because I get the impression he's not really involved in the X's and O's in the way a complete coach is, like Stoops. Mack is there to recruit, and there may not be anyone in the country that's better at it. Some of the most talented kids the University has ever seen are there as Freshmen and Redshirt Freshmen. A change needs to be made at Off. Coord. to get the most out of that talent, and hopefully Mack and the powers-that-be will do it.
