Well, maybe it's just me. I'm at a point right now with baseball, where I can't say that I genuinely dislike any player or team. Speaking of Griffey, he's part of the reason I'm the type of fan I've become. I bought into some of the preconceived notions about him, but the last time I talked to Jason LaRue, he had some things to say about Griff that really made me think differently. He didn't have to offer his opinion to me, or try to sell Griff to me. I'm not the media, I'm just a guy. (Incidentally, for what it's worth, the nicest guy and best teammate he's ever come across in baseball - Reggie Sanders.)

Anyway, I go to ballgames to cheer for my team, and soak up the total experience, appreciating the talents of players on both teams. I've NEVER boo'ed at a game, and never will. Maybe all these things make me less of a fan. I spend the whole game either thinking about situational strategies, batter vs. pitcher matchups, or just marvelling at the art of hitting, which I think is the hardest thing to do in sports, and something I was never good at. I like football and basketball too, but I don't "understand" them in the way I do baseball. Something about the game is too perfect to me, to spend time disliking the people that play it.
