I don't like Bonds much, JP. I do enjoy watching him hit though. Especially in this post season, where everything near the strike zone was just blasted. I will never say that there was a better player than Babe Ruth. And I don't think that anything that anyone now does will ever make me think that they are better than Mays, Williams or Mantle. But what Bonds has done in the last few years has to be one of the most impressive runs of hitting ever seen.
I hate watching him admire his home runs, almost as much as I hate Griff-me do it. I thought it was really funny last year when Arod stood there, admiring his long drive, only to see it bounce off of the wall and while I think he still reached 2nd on the play, he also got to feel a little bit stupid.
A guy on the Ticket said he once heard the perfect excuse for someone admiring their home run. He said "They are just looking at the ball... just like all of the fans are".
I too think Bonds probably gets a bit of a bad rap, and if you listen closely, you will hear people talk about what a jerk Jeff Kent is. I just really don't like Bonds that much. That isn't to say that I hate him or can't stand him.
