I don't know if my thoughts came out right, but I was saying the same thing... if I were a Ranger fan, I'd MUCH rather be in the AL West, despite the time-zone issues, instead of the AL Central.

As for the other plan... I don't like the idea of continuing to have a team in Tampa Bay, but the other parts make a lot of sense. I'd rather see that idea than some of the others. If I had my druthers, I'd eliminate Tampa Bay, Florida, Montreal and Anaheim, with Oakland moving their current team to Anaheim. I'm sick and tired of the Chuck McElroys and Darren Olivers and Alex Ariases of baseball. I'm tired of subpar prospects being rushed to the majors. Take away 4 teams, go to a 27 man roster next year, 26 man the following year, and back to a 25 man roster the next year. I think it would help salaries level off a bit, if not decline, also. Guys like Steve Trachsel wouldn't be making over $10 million a year, because teams will have more options, and better options. Between the majors and the minors, we're talking about at least 600 extra players to choose from. Attendance will rise at ballparks because a better product will be on the field. As for all the employees of all these teams... sorry, it's called layoffs... as employees in America, most of the rest of us are subject to the same possibility.
