Actually, I would tend to agree with Incubus. If there is anything out there which craves blood---and there is---then likely it has been integrated in part into the vampire mythos. Virtually everything we have on the vampire in our modern societies is very Dracula oriented. Most people don't even trace the legend back beyond Vlad Tespes, the alleged "real Dracula" which Bram Stoker's book was exceptionally loosly based upon. And most others don't trace it back beyond the era when it was properly spelled "Vampyre." *shrugs*
