Subject: I was bored so i made a true or false quiz...answer the quetions...
(its lame but i was bored)
1. horses walk on tiptoe
2. horses are the fastest land animals
3. a fast-trotting horse sometimes has all four feet off the ground at one time
4. early explorers of the new world were greeted by indians on horseback
5. a horses teeth are clues to its age
6. there are few,if any,true wild horses today
7. horses can see in the back of themselves without turning thier heads.(that means right behind its tail)
8. horses sense smells better than we do
9. horses hear sounds that we cant hear
10. horses sleep for long hours at a time
11. some horses can solve math problems
12. horses make many kinds of sounds that serve as messages
13. one way to tell how a horse is eeling is to look at its body
14. horses are social animals-they enjoy company
answer these and once alot of people answer ill give the right answers ok

I agree to all of Mornin's answers, except one:

I believe this one is actually false. At a fast GALLOP the feet may all come off the ground, but trotting can never get that fast... at least I don't think so lol ^_^

ok number one is True...because each foot ends in one very long toe.a horse stands,walks,trots,canters,and gallops on the tips of there toes.a horses foot reaches about half way up its leg.what looks like a knee to us is really the ankle.
Even my mom diagree's I've never heard of a horse waling on it's toes..................... It walks on it's hoof and that is a big toe nail but horses put wait down on that and not on there toes. Realy I've never heard of that. :) well just to say I didn't know :/
I've lived around horses all my life and have never heard that one well thanxs for the quiz it was cool :)

3. believe it or not its...true,people has argued over this for many years.the answer was found in 1877 by an american photographer named eadweard.in those days there were no motion-picture cameras.he arranged 24 still cameras so that each would be triggered as a trotting horse passed.the photograghs showed that at a fast trot all four feet do sometimes come off the ground.
4. false...the indians never seen a horse before...when the explorers first came on horseback the indians thought they were very big dogs.
5. true...the teeth grow and change when the horse does.
6. true...a russian explorer found true wild horses called przewalskis.other wild horses were desindents of horses that had escaped there owners.
7. false...that is a blind spot.that is the reason for there kicking and spooking.
8. true...they have a very keen sense of smell.
9. true...a horse has big outer ears that collects sound waves from the air.
10. false...they only sleep 4 hours in a 24-hour period(which is a day)and only 45 minutes of that is a deep sleep.
11. false...like mornin' dew said it was a trick they trained the horse to do.
12. true...all though there are 5 sounds that send messages...its different than are language.
13. true...its call body language...he or she is trying to tell you how they feel you just got to watch.
14. true...all horse even the mean ones want a friend.
