Subject: What is an "Atheist"

I have never been an atheist, i have always been taught about Jesus through a Southern Baptist view. As have many others i have encountered so called Christians and even the entire Church that were nothing more than opportunist and hipocritical to say the least. The point is that the Church nor "Christians" are God. And like all things concerning man kind are far short of what we expect of or from GOD.
I have a real problem with some of the Christian posts on this site. How can you claim to be representing God who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son to die for our sins in such a hate filled manner. Perhaps you should ask yourself who is filling you with such hate because it is not the God you profess. I can understand the opposite sides posts of this nature considering that each individual may impart his or her own moral code.
Now, on to the "Atheist". What is it that gives you such conviction that there is no God? Is it because you are so self fullfilled that you dont see a need for God? Is it that you want to be your own God? Atheism has never made any sense to me. For one thing Atheism is supposedly based on a logic that dismisses an unseen and non logical being of omnipitant power. Actually logic tells me that without such a being everything else is nonsense. There had to be a begining and there has to be an end. Without these two elements any theory of energy conversion, mathematical scenarios or biological circumstace is without merit. I will never be able to understand the complications people have with believing in God if you want to be logical about it.
My personal quest for God has led to some very interesting conclusions. Starting in April of '92 i have struggled with several issues most of them of my own making that have provided proof of Gods presence and active participation in this world. Also i have discovered that Christianity is the only major world religion which provides for salvation by Gods grace(love) alone. All that is asked of man is to believe. For example Islam, Hindu etc all revolve around the works of man pleasing God for salvation and acceptance into heaven. Me, i doubt that i could ever do anything impressive to GOD!
Well im tired of typing for now. But note that im not one of those behind the security of anonymity people my real name and email are posted and i invite any one with an objective argument or comment to email any time. No stupid remarks please. Also my testimony of God is pretty darn interesting if anyone cares to hear it.
