John D came to Burscough and signed on most of the existing staff, added a few players of his own, then gradually welded the team into a unit that became very hard to beat. He will do the same at St. Helens. It took two years to gain promotion to the UniBond League. It might only take one at St. Helens but I am not now that familiar with the strength of the opposition in the NWCFL.

We gained promotion to the UniBond Premier by only losing two games all season and remaining unbeaten away from home, a UniBond record. What more does the man have to do to prove he is a good choice? Have faith.

We had almost seven great seasons with John but the time was probably right for change. Only time will tell if we can sustain and perhaps improve on what has been achieved at Burscough with Shaun Teale now in charge.
