No, there was never an intention to have a late inspection. The match was in doubt from the start. You know the amount of prep that goes into staging a match and as it was a few people wasted their time during the day and the programme had been printed. I don't know why other refs weren't available as normal, but I can assure you, as one of the people who wasted two hours in the afternoon, the one we got was the only one we could get hold of.
