Subject: Checkin in

Hello everyone, hope your challenges are going well. Stacy, it sounds like you are being very smart in your weight loss style, like taking a veggie platter with you. Nice. Personally, I feel like a TOTAL slacker. I've got a sore ankle that is heavily limiting my activity. I'm also in the middle of packing for a long distance move, and having some insomnia issues (hence the 5.30 AM haven't-been-to-bed-yet posting) so I'm more less healthy and energtic than usual. Oh, well. I'm trying to keep positive about it. I have a feeling that weighing in tomorrow is not going to give me a warm fuzzy. But... I intend to report back next week RAVING about how wonderfully I did, so cross your fingers for me!

Thanks Kat, it's taken a while but I think I've finally got the hang of things. Sorry to hear about your ankle, hope it heals fast. You know you can't really control your exercise right now or even the sleeplessness you're having over the move ( it's natural), so just try to control the only thing you can which is what you're eating. That way you will still feel like you have some sort of control over your life ( which is hard when you're moving), and the scales won't beat you over the head too much at weigh-in time. There is some sort of saying about controlling the things you can and not worrying about the rest, and it mught sound cheesy but it's true!

Good luck this week with packing and all, when do you move? Take it easy on that ankle and keep us posted!

Thanks for the encouragement, Stacy. You are totally right. Watching what I eat makes me feel like I'm still doing something, not just passively waiting. My ankle is doing much better, and I''m going to start easing into working out in a couple days. I'm supposed to move tomorrow, but some Memorial Day celbrants cracked my windshield, so I have to get that replaced before I head out. Ug. Oh well- gives me another day or two for packing and closing up. Thanks again for the support... I'm digging this site :)

That is terrible about your windshield!! True it gives you more time, but it messed with your plans. Good luck with the move anyway, did I mention I HATE moving. All the packing and unpacking, ugh! That'll be enough of a workout:) Glad to hear your ankle is feeling better, you're right to ease into the workouts though. Better to give it time than cause serious damage. Hope your week looks up! You said it's a long distance move, will you have far to drive?
