Wes, thank you,

You arent't alone. My Dad and my uncle were best friends since age 4 and married sisters. All four were completely interchangeable as 'parents' with all four of us kids. We only lived a mile apart. I had two beds in my bedroom, mine and Mike's. He was my hero. There is a big age difference when I was 3 and he was 6 or when I was 7 and he was 10. He always watched out for me - he was always there. He's the one that finally taught me how to water ski; over and over and over again until I finally got it right. We did it every weekend during the summers. Our Dad's built the ski boat together in a garage. One weekend I cut it way too close coming into shore and at that angle was going way too fast. I must have been about 9 or 10 years old. I threw up the ropes, kicked the ski and did a headfirst right into the water. I was going so fast it tore off my bathing suit and I didn't even know it and ended up right at the shoreline. Half-dazed I stood up bareass naked and didn't even know it. Mike ran over with a towel and through it over my shoulders as I was walking out. He yelled, "Look, he ski's naked - whose next"? A whole bunch of people stood up, yelled and applauded. At that point I realized the towel was around the wrong part of my body. But guess who swam out and retrieved the ski and my suit?

He was killed in an auto accident too when he was 19 and I was 16. Not just a small piece of me died then too, for sure. I had him around longer than you had your brother and I will be forever grateful to Mike. In my mind, someday we will be together again. In my heart, he's never left.

Please don't worry about the teenie fondling years. They are about as 100% 'normal' as you can get for all boys gay and straight. I don't really know of any guys who didn't all go through that stage together anyway. It's really irrelevant; it's just normal maturing and experimentation for all boys as our hormones kick in.

As far as your Dad is concerned, he suffered a horrendous loss too when your brother died. Maybe the two of you could discuss that privately together?
