Very few movies take so long to shoot. The more special effects, the longer it takes, however none of these movies needs much time.

DD's role in Connie and Carla is supporting (his character only shows up in the script in page 52), so he will only work a few weeks even if the whole movie takes longer to finish.

My Dark Places is a small indy character piece (IIRC the budget is under $10 million) and I don't think it will take more than a couple of months to shoot. If they start in June, they should be done in September, s9o by the end of September or October DD can start shooting his own screenplay.
