Yep...I spent a couple days slowly savoring and reading through it. I think as I've read over some of the remarks, reviews of some of the other forums that I did have things I enjoyed which were mutual...and I also had some disappointments that have been mentioned.

From a publishing standpoint, it was not worth $22.95. That was the biggest pile of editing fopahs and YAABIs I've seen since the re-appearing Nova. I honestly think they took what was originally a 750 page excellent story and chop shopped it into a 400 or so page so-so story based on the nauseating theme coming out of Hollywood and now the book publishers have caught it..."sex sells".

My biggest disappointment was that the mystery plotline was once again sacrificed on the alter of "sex sells". Egad People...Woman with a brain here! Not just a hole and a heartbeat!

The obvious hole in the middle of the story between the boys waking up in the early evening, ensuing argument, and WHAMMO! Early morning and we're chasing the bad guys around the parking lot. ???? Did she fall asleep leaning against the door all night?

I enjoyed Asher a great deal. I think that goes without saying...and I look forward to his presence in future books. But PLEASE bring back the mystery plot PLEASE!!!

I missed hearing about her arsenel. Only token mention of her beloved Browning...and NO mention of the wrist sheaths or machete down her back or the trouble with evening apparel and armament. No scathing "discussions" with Bert.

SUPER SIGMUND SAVES THE DAY! I loved the re-appearance of plush.

What little mystery was there I did in fact enjoy....the two bodyguards checking her out in the graveyard I DID NOT see coming...which is new for me. I only noticed that Harlan dropped out of the whole story until chp 56 or so...which made me nail him for mega-bad. She could have done more with it. MUCH more! Course, Laurell probably DID do much more with it...before the chop shop got a hold of it. Somebody nail the Berkley Publishing Execs to the wall!
How dare they chop shop our Laurell's work! Who do they think they are!

I think we need those other 350 pages back. Hey, if DVD's can get away with director cuts...why can't LKH? I'd buy it.
