Do yourself a favor and video yourself. Even if it's not hitting a ball but just swinging a club. Set the shutter speed to at least 1/1000 or if you have AE Modes pick the one for sports. I'll bet you see the cause.

Also check out the thread on supination. You can still achieve a modified 'supination' with HSS.
