Take out your book and open it. Tell me what you see.

Don�t look at the hidden symbolism in the language, or the deeper meaning behind each idea. Don�t look at the paper the book is printed on, or the font the printer used.

Just look at the little black marks on the page. Trace one with your finger. Think about all the thousands of years it took to get from the drawings on cave walls to these little symbols that hold so much meaning in each syllable, in each sentence, in each paragraph. Each curve means something. Each letter is a wonder in itself.

The people who first used those symbols were trying to get an idea across to someone else. Leaving signs for people who came after to know what they saw before them. Warn their children of danger, teach them of wonders. Over the centuries, the drawings got simpler, easier to make...but still held the same purpose. To teach. To show. To leave something behind others could use.

Now...
