Subject: There are five roads.

There are five roads.

The first road leads to a town where everyone wears white. Pure white covers everything...the houses, the sidewalks, the cars...but it’s only an inch thick. Under that, it’s a mess...goopy, strange colors, covered over in the white to make it look nice. But no one who lives there looks under the white, so it doesn’t matter. If you come through, they’ll probably try to cover YOU with white, too, to make you match, and will try and convince you that you should live there, with them, so no one in the outside world will make the white come off.

The second road leads to a town where everything is it’s natural color. No matter how ugly or pretty that is. The grass is a brown green, neither way, because they refuse to water it...if it needs watering, it’ll rain. The houses are wood and brick, no paint. The cars are all metal colored. The sidewalks are gray. No one ever cleans, because the dirt is the natural order. No one ever bathes, but they will stand out in the rain. They don’t mind you coming through, as long as you don’t change anything. If you decide to stay, you should try not to bathe any more than they do, but they won’t enforce that if you don’t mention it.

The third road leads to a town where everything is colored in contrasts. The roads are red, and the cars are yellow. The houses are pink, and the lawns are green. Everything is one color, and it’s pure. This way, everything is clearly outlined, and nothing is missed. Everyone knows where everything is, and what it’s color is. If you go through, they’ll tell you how to get to anywhere...but if you find something they don’t know about, they’ll color that to contrast what it’s on. They may try to color you while you’re there, but you won’t get any pressure to stay if you don’t like it.

The fourth road leads to a town where everything is colored normally. The houses are painted and kept neat, and the lawns are watered. Everything looks just as it should on the outside. However, everything inside is coated with a layer of grime...the car seats are oily, the floors and carpets in the houses are moldy, and the trees are rotting from the inside out. If you stay, you’ll slowly start to rot away as well, but you’ll find that it’s pleasent feeling, and you won’t want to leave.

The fifth road leads to a town where nothing is quite understood. Everything is in it’s right place, but nothing is clear cut. The houses aren’t all the same color. The grass is all in it’s own shade, no one uniform state. The roads and cars are each unique to themselves. Nothing is set, nothing is plain, nothing is known ahead of time. The people who live in this town are laughed at by the other towns, because they don’t know what’s coming, and they don’t know where they are. They simply live, from day to day, in the moment.

If you pass through this town, you’ll be invited to stay, but not pressured. If you stay, you’ll never know what’s coming, and you may never know where you are. But everything will always be what it is.
