Subject: Solyent Green is peeeeopllllle!!!

Got to see the end of Solyent Green last weekend. It brought back memories.
But I had to think about it this time around. While the other Orwellian aspects of the depicted society, ie. the loss of freedoms and other aspects of culture, are certainly objectionable, I wonder if the underlying premise isn't flawed. Assuming we did destroy our ecosystem so that food sources were drastically limited, and we wanted to carry on some form of society in hope for a future as well as reducing short term suffering, is it really so evil a thought to recycle human protein? I mean, doesn't our ecosystem already do this to a certain extent?

Food for thought. Or maybe at least, future food for thought!
