Subject: I met an old friend

He has followed his dream and is now a local cop,

And my kids were able to see their father get pulled over by a real policeman!

I had come home a different way and failed to notice that it was a "No turn on red" intersection. I turned on red.

I was immediately pulled over and we were both surprised to see someone we knew.

See Bill (now Officer Almond) used to be an assistant manager at a local neighborhood grocery store and I worked in the deli. After chewing the fat a little, he said the spot is his favorite because of people turning on red, and he sits there whenever he is not busy. He then let me off with a warning (something he usually does at this light as long as there was no accident).

I drove home with the feeling that I did something stupid, but got to see a person that I had not realized how much I missed.

Trivial tidbit-

Bill used to be an avid Star Wars collector and when I was cleaning my closet purchased my collection for a good amount (which he was later able to recoup by another sail). He said he kept a few things that he really thought were exceptional.

I can't help but wonder if my old Millenium Falcon is still hanging from the ceiling above his bed.
