Subject: Coming back to religion

Which, some of you may recall in the deep recceses of your minds, is one of the the topics of this message board.

Today, someone said something to me that I haven't heard in a long, long time. Almost a year, I think. I even forgot to listen for it. But there it was: "You're such a nice person! It's a shame you're going to hell for eternity."

*screams*

I have a question. If someone were to come up to you and start explaining how you're wrong to think that there's a god, would you listen? You might. But would they convince you?

No. You believe what you believe.

Why is it Christians seem to think that just by preaching, they will be able to change a mind? When if someone were to preach at them, their minds would never budge. How much sense does this make?

Do they think that everyone else is different, with no actual beliefs, and so anything they say will take hold in our minds? Kinda like talking to a monkey...or a tape recorder?

Why is it they do this? A comment like this...what is it supposed to acomplish?
