Subject: Either you know this, or you don't care, but Tennessee sucks!

On the Fourth Of July I tried my darndest to say a few words at Vol State Tennessee college for a friend of mine, and what I talked about the most was this new state income tax nonsense, which isn't going to feed those on welfare, oh, know. What it's going to do is put more cops out on the street. For instance, twenty five percent more in Hendersonville that they don't need (because, as it is, they've already got three cop cars pulling over one person for speeding). Then, in most other cities and counties they'd be putting about a third of what they already have out on the street. Completely absurd.

I understand in places like Madison and Nashville, where the crime rate is a little higher, we might need some more cops. But, in places like Paris Tn., or Harriman? Give me a break.

I'm going to assume that some of this is to protect us Tennessee people from evil terrorists, and all that. I swear to god, this whole War On Terrorism and state of emergency reminds me of the cold war and the red scare. Instead of being a suspected commie, you could be a suspected terrorist.

I guess, as long as us Tennessian's line the pocket of Luther Best, we can all sleep better at night.

Also, since the Titans sucked this last football season traffic has become a little more tolerable. Which is bad for business, which means they have lost some money. Opps! What do we do now? Someone gets a bright idea, "Let's give 'em an income tax!" With all the shit that's happening with that, we also have about two hundred people who are thrown outta work (lack of information on this), but I think it's because they don't know how to pay these guys, so the company gives them a "vacation" until the company can figure out how to pay them. They're not actually laid off, but they're not getting paid. I'd like to know whoever's responsible for that fuck up.

We're also getting a pollution tax, which is going to tax us for how many times we drive our cars, and what not. Because, you know, they're worried about pollution and exhaust pipe fumes, now. Just in the nic-of-time, right? That's easy to solve, don't use gasoline! Wouldn't it be a lot easier, and a lot better to use the gasohol and the methanol that hemp stems produce, instead of choking ourselves to death,and dying for oil in Saudi Arabia? Which would also get us out of the middle east. Because, after all, we wouldn't have a reason to be over there.

That concludes my rant. You can correct me on any errors I might have made. :)
