Subject: Many creationists are thankful he's gone

Because he's systematically debunked every creationist argument in his writings. He was reknowned for his breakthrough on punctuated equilibrium, which took the wind out of the sails of many biologists who were willing to engage cognitive dissonance around the issue.

Basically, biology is well beyond "if" evolution is true, and has made huge breakthroughs on the "how." The recent DNA discoveries of species containing the code for earlier species pretty much ended the debate for anyone trained in the discipline of science.

Despite his friendly debating style, creationists were avoiding him like the plague in recent years. I suppose I could dream up a conspiracy theory here.
