Subject: The bible/for Noomy.

To start with you asked me which bible I use,well I will use any bible because they are all pretty much the same but I prefer The New world translation because it contains the divine name Jehovah which as been erroneously taken out of most modern bibles.=====It was you Noomy who said "The implication is that the whole world is surrounded by water" in reference to the bible account of to the flood,but when I agree with your understanding you ask me what I base it on,normally I wouldnt have gone so much into exactly what occured,its just your understanding of the account IMO is correct,the whole world was surrounded by water.=====The account of the sun staying in the sky for a full 24 hrs,I really dont know what your problem is with it,you seem to be looking for some complicated reasoning as to exactly how it could happen.There isnt one,God used his power to hold the sun in its position so his purpose could be fulfilled.=====You ask how we seperate the symbolic from the literal citing JOHN 1*1 where Jesus is referred to as the word.If we was in court id object to that question as argumentative because im sure you really dont think Jesus was just a word so its quite plainly not literal,so thats a mute point.As for how we tell the difference,theresactually quite a large difference between historical events such as the creation,the flood and the nation of Israels trek through the wilderness,these are stated many times in the old and new testament as actual history,plus all bible ancestral lists go back to Noah and his three sons,back even further to Adam.LUK3*23-38/17*26/ROM 5*14/1COR15*45/1TIM 2*13-14/HEB11*7.Compare that to obvious symbolic books such as revelation and Daniel,if you cant tell the difference then youve got problems.This isnt pick and choosing Noomy its common sense.
