hi, i think we had a really interesting discussion in class today about terrorists and guerillas.
i believe it's hard to seperate the two from each other, but some distinctions can be made:
-both are relatively small, at least in opposite to the running government.
-both have similar ways to act either through sudden explosions or kidnappings or assasinations.
-both seek popular support
-both seek the media to exploit their situation

i have a hard time coming up with absolute distinctions that applies both groups when it comes to motives and goals. sure many of the organizations have political goals, whether to overthrow a gov or changing systems of politics. but i can really find it possible to generalize this assumption. because many groups in south east asia, called guerillas by newspapers, tend to kidnapp and kill tourists just and hold them for ransom. many of these groups dont have any political goal or motives. SORRY GOTTA RUN TO CLASS, I'LL FINISH THIS LATER
