There was no pain like before, just a constant washed out type of feeling. The crisp, sterile, un-inhabited air of the hotel room was unable to reassure her that everything was going to be alright, and the city outside the window that was spread out like a vast, intricate carpet only proved to be more intimidating than she had first thought. Slender digits are raked through autumn hair, emerald spheres finding their way to the floor below her feet. A piece of chewing gum had been ground repeatedly into the carpet, and no amount of scrubbing would be able to remove it. Presently, an amused smile finds its way onto her lips, the first time she'd smiled at herself in a while. She had an endless spiel of random ideas and comments inside her head that seemed to be brought up at one time or another, and she had to admit it made her feel good to smile again.
