i desperately try to hold her back as she struggles free from my clenching grasp, but - obviously - i fail and she wrenches loose. as she pulls out the weapon and aims it down towards the shooting men, i leap at her from my crouched position, snatching the gun - hopefully - from her grasp and of course, crushing her to the gravel-strewn roof beneath me. i clamp another hand over her lips, yanking one of her hands behind her back, attempting to hold the struggling physique down. she wasn't doing either of us any favors by attacking the openly armed and fierce men below...not to mention they way out numbered her and i. with eyes wide i frantically searched my mind for an escape, one where she and i would both be alive and well - at least, as well as could be expected.
