Subject: Mortar question

I'm another one of those players with a decade-long layoff from SL and just getting back into it. I look forward to a PBeM game soon. But first, a rules question.

CoI rule 63.42 states that a 60mm or smaller mortar counts as 5 PP and can't be fired in the Advancing Fire Phase.

OK, then along comes CoD and there's a British 51 mm mortar that's only 2 PP. You can find some nice info on it on page 99 of CoD rules (Ordnance listings...2nd one down on the Brits). It seems clear that this weapon should not fall under rules that were made for larger mortars.

I could not find any additional rules that would account for a 2 PP mortar. I've been playing it as being able to fire in the Advancing Fire Phase at 1/2 strength, but that seems too strong. I'm going to change its rate of fire to 2 (from 3).

That's my house rule on it. Can anybody point me to any rules that indicate how it should be done? Or should I just follow the old CoI rule?

Cheers,
Jason
