Rule updates are the only difference.

No, there isn't. The box (in most cases) has no
indication. A savvy eBay seller will know to mention
the rules edition (which is printed on the front cover
of the rulebook). The first edition SQL box was a
purplish color, all other boxes were the same. You are
probably seeing differences in the lighting used in
taking the pictures.
